Had a great day fishing with my friend @kadowakisurfboards . We got to catch up on our lives and relive our “stupid bass fishing“ days together. Special thanks to @nancykadowaki for letting us reschedule their holiday for us to do this!

Koa is such an awesome wood. Awesome tonal qualities and gets rather elastic between 250 degrees F and 350 degrees F, so bending is a no-brainer. That helps when you’re like me. No brain…🤪
.
These are for the #margolismodelukulele a #tenorukulele .
Because this build is the most simple it is also the type of build you need to pay extra attention to. Seamlessness is essential and perfect gluing surfaces need to be achieved through careful squaring and pattern symmetry. No binding to hide behind here!

The most intriguing part of a luthier’s job is jig making…

This is a #solaratable . Its shape mimics the ukulele. This one is specially designed for the larger bodies of the #tenorukulele and the #baritoneukulele .
.
The belly of the lower bout is radiused to 15’. The slots will hold the adjustable “L” brackets. This will allow more freedom in creating the dimensions needed for the sound as well as aesthetics of the body.
The baritone ukulele has been the most played instrument when I take my pop-up store to venues. I guess I’ll make a few more!
Also interest in a steel string ukulele and a bass ukulele use the baritone body size! Hoping to have them ready for the #losangelesinternationalukulelefestival in September this year.
